Swimming Lessons will be offered at the Oakhurst Pool by the Pool Management Company
Kingwood Community Pool Company, please see their website for more information and application.
 
Facility Band Distribution: May 6 at the Pool Lodge 10-2
Available at Community Asset Management after May 8 during regular business hours.
Facilty Band Form- Facility Bands are used to easily identify residents using the Oakhurst Amenities.
Facility Bands are renewed annually. The 2017 bands are a Lime Green with the words "Oakhurst 2017" and the splash Pad Code embossed on the band.  Bands are required for use of  all Oakhurst Amenities.  Each resident with a band is allowed one guest.
 
The Oakhurst swimming pool, clubhouse and main playground are located at 28825 Rock Creek Dr.
A splash pad water facility is location on Auburn Fields Dr.
Facility bands are required for admission to the private swimming pool, splashpad and should be worn at all association facilities. The Lodge is used for association meetings/functions.
The Oakhurst Pool Facilities
The Lodge: an adult pool with attached kiddie pool, kiddie water feature and water slides. Lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas and shaded areas surround the pool deck. Public restrooms available.
The Auburn Trails Splashpad: a splashpad for the kids (toddler through middle school) with a manual on/off switch. Entry to this facility is through a coded pedestrian gate. The code to the gate is embossed on the back of the facility band. Public restrooms are available through a coded pedestrian gate.
Facilities may be closed without notice for maintenance and/or repairs.
Guests at Amenities:  All members and guests must abide all posted rules, warnings and instructions from on duty lifeguards or Oakhurst at Kingwood Board representatives.  Failure to comply with directions or follow rules may result in the forfeiture of use of all facilities and facility band issued.
All guests must be accompanied by a resident with a current facility band.

Pool Rules
  1. Lifeguards on duty have complete authority.
  2.  No glass containers or alcoholic beverages allowed in pool areas.
  3. No diving.
  4. No running or rough play.
  5. Only small floating items, upon pool manager’s direction, will be allowed in the pool.
  6. Swimmers in the water have the right of way. Those entering the water from the deck or from water slide must make certain that no one is in front of them.
  7. No pets are permitted on the pool premises.
  8. Proper swimming attire required. Cut-offs or t-shirts not allowed.
  9. The use of cocoa butter, baby oil and other heavy sun tan oils cause filter damage and are not permitted in the pool.
  10. Proof of membership must be shown to enter pool area. Members who have guests are responsible for them at all times.
  11. Stay off the ropes.
  12. Children under nine (9) years of age must be accompanied by an adult at least eighteen (18) years of age. Any child between the ages of nine (9) and twelve (12) years of age may enter the pool area unaccompanied by an adult if said child has passed the swim test.
  13. No swimming after designated swimming hours, unless special arrangements have be made through the recreation director of the Board of Directors. Anyone caught swimming after hours will be suspended for the remainder of the summer and have trespassing charges filed against him or her
  14. Obey lifeguards and supervisory personnel. Talking to lifeguards on duty is prohibited.
  15. Chewing gum while swimming is prohibited.
  16. Swimming with an open sore or a communicable disease is prohibited.
  17. Jumping off backwards or anything that throws the head back towards the side of the pool is prohibited. Flips from the side of the pool are not allowed.
  18. Be alert to anyone in trouble. Call for help immediately. Do not move or remove injured people from the water who complain of back or neck injuries.
  19. Lifeguards are employed to ensure the safety of the swimmers. They have authority to remove from the pool area anyone disobeying the rules or endangering the safety of himself or another person. The lifeguard has the authority to suspend an offender for one day. Additional violations will be turned over to the pool committee. Repeat violations may result in revocation of swimming privileges for the remainder of the summer.
  20. Pool area will be cleared at the first sound of thunder or first sight of lightning. Patrons will not be allowed to re-enter the facility until thirty minutes after the last evidence of storm.
  21. One long whistle blast means to clear the pool!
    Baby Pool Rules
    1. Lifeguards are not responsible for the baby pool.
    2. Users must be accompanied by parent or guardian eighteen (18) years of age or older.
    3. Parent or guardians are responsible for their children.
    4. All pool rules apply to baby pool.
    5. Swimsuits are required. Disposable diapers are not allowed.
    6. Only no-swimming, pre-school children five (5) or under use the baby pool.
             
    Pool Slide Rules
    1. No sliding without lifeguard – slide attendant on duty.
    2. Riders must line up at the bottom of the stairs.
    3. Riders must be at least 48 inches (48") tall.
    4. Only one person at a time allowed on the slide.
    5. Landing area must be clear before riders slide down.
    6. Floatation devices are not allowed on the slide.
    7. No catching in the landing area.
    8. Riders must exit the landing area immediately.
    9. Eyeglasses, sunglasses, jewelry, food or beverages on slide are prohibited.
     
    Splash Pad Rules
    1. The Spray Park is intended for the use of Oakhurst Residents and their accompanied guest ONLY.
    2. Parental supervision is required.
    3. Spray Park water is chemically treated and not intended for consumption.
    4. Surfaces may be hot – FOOTWEAR IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
    5. Climbing on Spray Park equipment is strictly forbidden.
    6. No food or beverages are allowed on the spray pad.
    7. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
    8. GLASS CONTAINERS are not allowed in the Spray Park area.
    9. Children who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers.
    10. Pets are not allowed in the Spray Park.
    11. The Spray Park closes for lightening and/or thunder warnings.
    12. Lifeguards working at the Oakhurst pool have authority over the Spray Park and its patrons and should be obeyed at all times.
